Fit comes first, and it eliminates most of the market
A trampoline hoop attaches to the enclosure poles, and enclosure poles differ between makers and between models from the same maker: straight or curved, different diameters, different pole counts, and different cap profiles. Skywalker sizes its kits to specific frames and says so: the 15-foot double kit is for 15-foot round Skywalker models with six enclosure poles, the 12-foot kit is a separate SKU, and owner reviews confirm the 15-foot kit does not fit a 14-foot trampoline. Springfree sells the FlexrHoop for its own frames.
So the shortlist is written by your trampoline, not by a ranking. Check the maker, the diameter and the pole count before you compare anything else, and if your trampoline's maker sells a hoop for it, that is almost always the right purchase even when a generic kit is cheaper. A hoop that half-fits is a hoop that sags into the jumping area.
The numbers
Why the hoop is supposed to fall off
Both Skywalker kits attach with hook and loop, and Skywalker describes that as the safety feature: the hoop breaks away when sufficient force is applied. On a trampoline that is exactly right. A child dunking mid-bounce is moving fast in an unpredictable direction, and a rigidly-bolted rim would either stop them or bend the enclosure pole into the jumping area. A hoop that lets go is a hoop that does not catch an arm. Springfree takes the same approach differently, with a flexible hoop and no hard edges anywhere on it.
This is also why trampoline hoops use foam or soft inflatable balls, and why every kit ships with one. A regulation basketball on a trampoline is a hard object arriving at head height with two children underneath it. Both Skywalker kits include foam balls; Springfree includes a ball and a pump. Use the ball that came in the box.
A note on stock, and on Amazon
On 2026-09-26 Skywalker's own store showed both the single and double kits sold out, at $39 sale / $47 list and $66 sale / $119 list respectively, while both remain listed on Amazon. That is normal for a seasonal accessory. This is not a basketball hoop
Worth saying plainly: a trampoline hoop is a game, not practice. The rim is soft, the ball is foam, and the surface changes the shot completely. It is genuinely good at what it is for, which is making a trampoline more fun for another two years. For a child who actually wants to work on shooting, the answer is a rim at the right height on a hard surface: best hoops for kids and hoop height by age.

Buyer's guide: a hoop for a trampoline
Write down three things before you shop
Maker, frame diameter and enclosure pole count. Skywalker kits are sold by diameter and pole count, and that is what decides whether the straps reach.
Prefer the maker's own accessory
Skywalker for a Skywalker, Springfree for a Springfree. A universal kit can work, but the maker's kit is matched to the pole profile and is usually the one with a published warranty.
Hook-and-loop is a feature
If the hoop cannot break away, do not buy it. A rigid rim on an enclosure pole is the wrong thing to have above a bouncing child.
Foam ball only
Every kit includes one. A real basketball on a trampoline is how teeth get chipped, and it will also stretch the net.
Take it off for winter
These are hook-and-loop straps and soft plastic. They last longer stored dry than left on a frame under snow.
