The statement

As an Amazon Associate, Rim & Rebound earns from qualifying purchases. When you click a “Check price on Amazon” button or an Amazon link on this site and buy something, Amazon pays Rim & Rebound a commission. It costs you nothing extra; the price you pay is the price Amazon shows.

Which links earn

Every earning link on the site runs through a /go/ address on our own domain and then redirects to the retailer with our tracking tag attached. These links are marked rel="sponsored" in the page code and every buy button carries a visible #ad label and a link back to this page. As of launch, one merchant is active: Amazon. We have no active campaigns on any other affiliate network. Links to manufacturers' product pages, manuals and warranty pages, and to reference sources such as the NBA and USA Basketball standards, 811 and QUIKRETE, are plain links that pay us nothing.

Three makers we compare sell direct and are not on Amazon: Goalsetter, Pro Dunk Hoops, Mega Slam Hoops. Their product cards render a plain, non-earning “see it at maker” link and say so in words. We include them because a hoop comparison that left out the heaviest steel in the category would be incomplete, and we earn nothing if you buy one.

Why the buttons don't show a price

Amazon prices change daily and Amazon's rules require any price we display to come from their data and be refreshed within roughly 24 hours. This site does not yet have that live feed, so every button reads “Check price on Amazon” and the current price is on Amazon's page. When a live feed exists, a dated price will appear inside the button and will disappear automatically if it is more than 48 hours old. The list prices printed in spec tables are the makers' own published prices on the date read, linked, and are not Amazon prices.

What commissions don't change

Scores, ranks and picks. Every product is scored on the public rubrics at the methodology page from the maker's published specs, install manuals and quoted warranty terms; commission rates are not an input. No maker pays for placement or supplies units, and where a direct-only hoop out-specs an Amazon-sold one, the page says so.
